MAP-ECU2

Introduction
Released in the mid-2000s, the MAP-ECU2 is the second-generation model in the MAP-ECU series, designed to expand on the capabilities of the original MAP-ECU1 while addressing the growing needs of both naturally aspirated and forced induction applications. The MAP-ECU2 operates as a piggyback ECU, modifying the communication between the vehicle’s factory ECU and its sensors to allow for more advanced tuning options. This generation introduced key features like limited ignition timing control, auxiliary injector support, and broader compatibility with more sensor types, making it suitable for more complex tuning setups.

The MAP-ECU2’s added functionality includes the ability to control up to two additional injectors, allowing for better fuel management in high-performance setups. It also integrates more sophisticated 2D and limited 3D mapping capabilities, providing users with a greater level of customization. While still using serial COM port connectivity for configuration, the MAP-ECU2 improved user access to tuning functions and made it feasible to utilize it in a variety of vehicle configurations, including turbocharged and supercharged systems.
